jumpers, wine, coaching, sarcasm, sandwich meat, ice cream, dogs
dislikes: cooking, farm work, sensitive people, kids, her ex- husband, Riverview Farms
strengths: bringing out potential, small details, making people laugh, jump offs.
weaknesses: creativity, setting jumps, holding back, equitation
fears: being alone, Wyndfield becoming run down, losing Allyson
goals: be the top coach, have as few students as possible lose to Riverview riders, bring up at least two International competitors.
personality overview: Jess is a complete fire cracker, the kind that hands you a sarcastic comment without flinching- or an apology. She‘s also very harsh- she says what‘s on her mind and in all honesty can be a complete bitch. She will scream at you if you mess up in the ring, she will literally throw things if you piss her off- yes, anger management courses would probably benefit her. She is the kind of person that will tell a complete stranger they need to “slow the fuck down“ in the jumper ring, yet there is an underlying respect for her in the horse world amidst the trainers- she‘s like George Morris, a complete ass hole sometimes but worth their weight in gold. She has talent, she knows what she‘s talking about- and she has high expectations. If she doesn‘t think you work hard enough she‘ll refuse to coach you- don‘t listen to her advice? She won‘t coach you. She‘s got a temper, but she isn‘t always the wicked witch of the west. Jess is actually a sweetheart when she realizes she likes you- she can become almost motherly, though it is very subtle things like reminding you to wear sunscreen. [/ul][/blockquote]

history: Jessica grew up riding horses, her parents had embraced her love for the sport and happily signed the pay check. She spent her early childhood in the pony hunter ring- winning classes at pony finals multiple times. She moved into the equitation rings and jumpers very early on in her career and was one of those naturals- the kind that showed against people that were in their twenties and won. She claimed the Maclay title, won the CET medal and the Jump Canada Medal at fifteen with her horse Liaison. She then continued in the jumper ring where she won her first Grand Prix at the age of seventeen- she was literally a walking prodigy. She showed in the Grand Prix and International rings until she was twenty-three and got her judges card.
After judging a few shows Jessica fell in love with it and soon sold all her horses, knowing she’d have no time when she was flying from province to province to judge ’A’ shows. She became a sought after judge but at the age of twenty five realised she wanted to be able to come home in the winter and ride- she missed the physical aspect of the sport too much. So she hired a construction crew and started planning Wyndfield Farms, named after the many windy falls days Jessica spent schooling horses in a mock sand ring well the barn was being constructed. Wyndfield became her dream, filled with her heart and soul- so she stopped judging for the most part and went into coaching full time. She pushed her students to new heights and challenged them constantly, but she created winners. She worked hard with her students and got them competing consistently on the A circuit with good results. It was then that she noticed Allyson Devon, an up and coming rider that had the stubbornness that the sport took. She started working with Allyson, putting her on horses and sending her into the ring- well prepared and expected to win the class. It was Jessica’s first student that she truly thought had the talent to go all the way.
Jessica married Richard when she was twenty-seven, he was the love of her life and it amazed her the amount of support he gave her in the sport. He never complained that she was gone from Wednesday to Sunday to show horses and coach students- he just cherished the few hours she spared for him when she wasn’t running the farm. It was a picture perfect life, he even took pride in landscaping Wyndfield’s grounds. The two of them kept the barn spotless, they worked together in such harmony that made other couples jealous. In fact, Jess’ life seemed perfect for the next three years- with the obvious life occurrences, but for the most part it flowed- but then she came home early one Sunday from a show after Allyson had took a nasty fall and was unable to compete. She’d spent the morning in the hospital, but once assured she was okay had gone home.
It was her arrival that followed the typical story- wife comes home early and finds her husband in bed with somebody else. The girl was nothing special, nothing that made her hate women- she was just shocked. Shocked beyond belief- she’d had the fairy tale wedding, the perfect marriage- this wasn’t supposed to happen to her. But that’s what happens when your life always appears perfect to on lookers- it never truly is once you dig deep enough. The worst part was he didn’t scramble to hide it, come up with some stupid explanation- he just told her to close the door so he could finish. Jess was astounded, she’d never suspected it- yet she learned it’d been going on for years. He hadn’t been supporting her career- he’d been kicking her out the door. Everything made sense, why he was always that ‘perfect’ husband. It’d killed Jess, to know she’d been fooled like that. Though luckily, she kept it out of the public eye. His affair at least- in fact many believe she slept around on him.
Jessica stopped coaching full time and went back to judging- unable to face the life that had once been shared with Richard. She spent hours on the rode and stayed in hotels simply to avoid going home, anything to avoid the empty house that still received the idiot’s mail once in awhile. Jess started judging in the United States as well as Canada, judging every weekend at some sort of show. She’d even fly out to do a show that merely paid for her flight- but she did it, anything to avoid the house. But then Allyson called, something that was rare. Usually they planned calls on Monday to discuss horse shows, talk- to actually just vent about annoyances such as bad in gate people or ring hold ups. Jessica’s mouth had dropped when she heard what happened, and she’d had to sit down when she heard the rumour that was going around- Allyson sleep with a married man? Never. It’d killed Jessica, seeing as Allyson was the closest thing she had to family. She’d flown home immediately and given Allyson the keys to her house and the pin for her bank account. She stayed for the month but it killed her to be around the farm, so she went back on the rode and started judging.
Jessica spent a few weeks home last winter to check on Allyson before she went to Florida, and it was still painful- to the point she’d slept in the spare room. She’d never liked the big house, but she embraced it now. She could avoid the things that reminded her of him. Well she was home she constantly coached and rode, loving the feeling of being back in the saddle again- of watching her students improve with every single ride. She loved that aspect of the horse world, seeing improvement. She’d went back to judging, but it just wasn’t the same- it broke her heart to be away from the horses, her students. She’s finally broken down, she’s coming home. But Jessica never does anything small- she’s about to rock the ring and smarten up her students.

breed: Warmblood
height: 16.3h
age: 8

notes: Really loves his job, a complete dork on the ground- huge personality. Will rush fences if you let him, gets super excited about lead changes- will pull you out of the saddle id you aren‘t prepared for them. [/ul][/blockquote]

registered name: Oxford
barn name: Oxford
breed: Oldenburg
height: 17h
age: ten
discipline: jumper
notes: Oxford is a really soft horse, carries himself well and is the type that does well with inside turns. Not the “galloping“ type. Never touches a rail, if sent long will launch you out of the saddle- over jumps if the spot isn‘t perfect. Can be dead to leg, especially on the flat. [/ul][/blockquote]

registered name: Appeal
barn name: Reno
breed: Warmblood
height: 16.3h
age: 7
discipline: jumper
notes: Reno jumps the moon, and is a nice ride all around. Soft in the bridle and extremely calm on the flat. However, can be spooky when off property- gets overwhelmed by crowds in big rings. Needs to be balanced constantly or he won‘t make the turn- and won‘t change his lead. Wants to please. [/ul][/blockquote]
